Current Programs


M.Tech in Geoinformatics
1. Vacancies for M.Tech in Geoinformatics
(i) As per AICTE approval – 18
(ii) Sponsored –05 (supernumerary)

2. Admission Procedure for M.Tech in Geoinformatics
(i) Common merit of GATE score for all branches of Science and Engineering
(ii) For sponsored candidates – Interview (written test in case number of applicants are more than 4 times the vacancies for the sponsored candidates

3. Eligibility for M.Tech in Geoinformatics
(i) All branches of Science and Engineering
(ii) Basic eligibility as per DTU eligibility criteria
(iii) The 18 vacancies be distributed in three groups with 6 vacancies each -
(aa) B.Tech in CSE/IT/Software/E&C/ Electrical
(ab) B.Tech Civil/ Architecture/ Agriculture/ Geomatics /Geoinformatics
(ac) MCA, MSc in Mathematics/ Geology/ Physics, or B.Tech/MSc in any other relevant branch not covered above.
(iv) Reservation as per Govt rules
(v) Sponsored candidates can be from any of the eligible branches meeting other eligibility criteria of DTU.

Ph.D in Geoinformatics
1. Vacancies for PhD in subjects related to Geoinformatics
DTU may award following fellowships
(i) PhD with Institute fellowship – to be announced
(ii) PhD with JRF/SRF/RA fellowship - subject to availability of vacancy with PI/Co-PI/Other faculty.
(iii) PhD without fellowship - as per availability of vacancy with the faculty of Centre/members of Centre
(iv) PhD (PT) - as per availability of the faculty vacancy
2. Admission Procedure for PhD in subjects related to Geoinformatics
(i) Separate entrance for the PhD in subjects related to Geoinformatics.
3. Eligibility for PhD in subjects related to Geoinformatics M.Tech in any branch of Science and Engg.
(i) Basic eligibility for PhD as per DTU eligibility criteria
(ii) All branches of Science and Engineering as given below -
(aa) CSE /IT/ Software/E&C/ Electrical/Civil/ Architecture/ Agriculture/ Geomatics /Geoinformatics
(ab) MCA with M.Tech, MSc in Mathematics/ Geology/ Physics,
(ac) Integrated M.Tech in any of the above fields.
(ad) M.Tech/ M.Tech with MCA/MSc in any other relevant branch not covered above.
(iii) In case of exceptional B.Tech degree candidates for direct admission to Ph.D having a minimum of 75 % marks or equivalent CGPA and with research capability, MCA or MSc in any of the eligible fields mentioned above shall also be treated equivalent to B.Tech.
(iv) While selecting the candidates, subject to availability, an attempt shall be made to have equal distribution from all branches
(iv) Reservation – As per Govt rules
