Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

PEO 1: To acquire in-depth knowledge of software and hardware techniques, which provide a strong foundation to pursue continuing education and nurture the talent for innovation and research

PEO 2: To nurture the talent in leadership qualities, at an appropriate level in order to address the issues in a responsive, ethical and innovative manner.

PEO 3: To excel in careers by being a part of success and growth of an organization with whom they will be associated.

PEO 4: To inculcate the ability for lifelong learning by active participation in self-study courses, seminars, research projects.



Program Outcomes (POs)

B.Tech (Software Engineering)

PO1 (Engineering knowledge): Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2 (Problem analysis): Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3 (Design/development of solutions): Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4 (Conduct investigations of complex problems): Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5 (Modern tool usage): Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6 (The engineer and society): Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7 (Environment and sustainability): Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8 (Ethics): Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9 (Individual and team work): Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10 (Communication): Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11 (Project management and finance): Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO12 (Life-long learning): Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.



M.Tech (Software Engineering & Data Science)

PO1: An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems.

PO2: An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.

PO3: Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.



Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

B.Tech (Software Engineering)

PSO1: Design, analyze and develop the engineering problems.

PSO2: Specify, design, develop, test and maintain usable systems that behave reliably and efficiently.

PSO3: Develop systems that would perform tasks related to Research, Education and Training and/or E-governance.



M.Tech (Software Engineering)

PSO1: Apply the knowledge of software engineering principles and paradigms in the design of system components and processes that meet the specific needs of the industry.

PSO2: Use the techniques, skills and CASE tools necessary for engineering practice and coordinate the construction, deployment and maintenance of software systems.

PSO3: Ability to apply mathematical foundations and algorithmic principles for modelling and simulation of engineering problems.

PSO4: Use research based knowledge and tools for the analysis and interpretation of data to synthesize information for obtaining valid conclusions.

M.Tech (Data Science)



PSO1: Experiment and prepare programming concepts and provide new ideas and innovations towards research and societal issues in the field of data science.

PSO2: Analyse and develop various deep learning models, processes and algorithms to extract data be used for efficient decision making.

PSO3: Demonstrate data analytical skills to build and assess models for handling large scale data.



M.Tech by Research

PSO1: Apply advanced concepts, techniques, and methodologies and contribute new knowledge, or technologies to the field.

PSO2: Conduct original research by identifying gaps, formulating hypotheses, and applying theoretical and experimental approaches to advance knowledge in Software Engineering and Data Science.

PSO3: Integrate emerging technologies such as Empirical Software Engineering, Software Testing, Machine Learning, Predictive Modelling, Data Analytics, and Healthcare Analytics to solve challenging computational problems and drive innovation.
