Prof. (Dr.) Nitin K. Puri is an accomplished academic and researcher, currently serving as the
Executive Director of NIELIT Patna and Ranchi, as well as a Professor of Engineering
Physics at Delhi Technological University (DTU). He is the lab in charge of the
Nanomaterials Research Laboratory (NRL) and Advance Sensor Research Laboratory (ASL). NRL and
ASL have established facilities for synthesising semiconductor oxides and 2D nanomaterials by chemical
techniques such as hydrothermal synthesis, sol-gel method, co-precipitation method, solid-state method,
and physical techniques such as plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD) and double-zone
chemical vapour deposition (CVD). Topics of interest include but are not limited to gas sensors, bio-
sensors, supercapacitors, solar cells, photodetectors, charge-coupled devices, memory devices and
hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). His area of expertise includes the use of two-dimensional
nanomaterial devices for healthcare, environment, and energy harvesting applications. Recognized for his outstanding
contributions, he has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Gurukul Academic
Award-2022 by NITI Aayog and DTU’s Commendable Research Excellence Award for seven
consecutive years. His career reflects a deep commitment to advancing scientific research,
education, and international collaboration.
