D Roy Choudhury was Professor and Head, Electronics and Communications Engineering and Founder Head Computer Engineering Department, Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi. He was also Dean, Faculty of Technology, Delhi University, Delhi. He has taught courses in linear integrated circuits, computers, networks and control systems both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His special interests include control engineering, artificial neural networks and petri nets. He received his MTech degree in Radio physics and Electronics from the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics, University of Calcutta in 1966 and PhD from the same university in 1971. From 1971 to 1973, he was associated with the Institute de Reglage Automatique EPFL, Switzerland. He has been with the Delhi College of Engineering from 1974 to 2008, where he also served as the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He also undertook a visiting assignment at Oakland University, USA.

Dr. Roy Choudhury authored well reputed books published from John Wiley USA and PHI. He also supervised a number of Ph.D. candidates and published research work in refereed journals in electronics & computer related areas of national & international repute.

Criteria:

Medal plus Cash Award (total amounting to Rs. 50,000/- annually for 10 years) shall be given to overall topper of 2nd year student of Computer Science Engg. Deptt.
